The Keeley Compressor

The MXR dyna comp has been on my pedal board for many years. It has always served me well and I never thought about swapping it out for a different compressor. That is, until I saw the Keeley compressor showing up in other guys rigs during Nashville sessions.

I read some glowing reviews in various magazines, checked out the Keeley site and listened to some sound clips and knew I had to get one.

Now that it has replaced my dyna comp, I realize how much the dyna comp affected my tone. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but the Keeley allows me to hear details, clarity and articulation that I never knew were missing!

It is incredibly transparent and there is simply no setting that produces an unmusical sound.

This pedal has helped me to realize that from time to time it can be well worth tweaking a setup that is comfortable and well-proven - 
what a welcome surprise.
